Travel USA-Nevada

I have lived in the United States since 1989. I am german born and grew up with western movies and a lot of classical films. I remember the first time I traveled to Nevada. Driving over Donner pass and then through Reno.
Reno still has a middle class and you always get to see interesting characters

I didn't spent time in Reno then, but driving passed it and then entering the desert. Small stores and gas stations along the way, I felt like part of a Jim Jarmusch movie.  One thing I noticed is that people have a lot of space around their houses. Nevada people really fill that up with old cars and junk.  I have seen a the two neighbors houses of my friend Liz; both of  the neighbors names were Larry. Larry 1  collected old busses in his year and Larry 2 filled up his yard with  old airplanes. Unfortunately I was chased of the land when I was trying to take pictures by the Larry 1  with the busses and I really only wanted to take pictures of the airplanes. When I tried to justify my trespassing, telling him I am an artist, he looked like he was gonna run after me and grab a shotgun on his way. So needless to say I feel much calmer walking through the tenderloin in San Francisco, than walking along Larry's fence in Nevada.
Liz and I then took a little road-trip to the black-rock desert, a place so many people only know because thousands of people venture to this white dusty plain, in order to burn wooden structures, taking E and running around naked, for a small fee of about a thousand dollars. I had been to this place before all this even happened and now you can probably see longhaired weirdly clothes people in Gerlach the ajecent town that have never gone home. Well maybe it's the chicken friend steak they serve all over Nevada.

Chicken Fried Steak, I had to have it the next day. I set out to explore the ghost town Berlin. Driving along highway 50 I drove by this gigantic white sand mountain. It looked like somebody had dumped in the plains, it didn't belong. I was would explore that on the way back. Last gas here, but I didn't know that yet, so I didn't refill my tank to the gill.

It had rained a few days ago and the desert had all those different shades, light green, purple, yellow.
The road was empty and I stopped for the some view here and there and ate some food.

Arriving in Berlin, after a long road that ended in a dirt road, I got this  spectacular view and explored the old mines with the Roo. I did try to see the fossil of the ichthyosaur, found here, but the house was closed. There was a road that would have led through this valley, but I wasn't sure, if I would make it with the gas I had left in the tank. There was really nobody around and at times it was quite eerie.
